Cornwall (UK) has partnered with Kujawsko-Pomorskie (Poland) and South Ostrobothnia (Finland) to undertake a pilot project in 2009 with funding from the European Commission Culture Programme. A cultural event is being hosted by each of these regions during 2009. With associate partners in Bulgaria, Eire, and Denmark, this pilot is designed to be the prototype for a new EROC network and the first step towards the long-term aim of establishing a designation.
The EROC partnership has a shared belief that culture is a powerful agent for change in rural regions and its ability to transform will be strengthened by intercultural dialogue and cultural exchange. For this reason creative practitioners, young people, researchers and policy makers from all 3 regions will participate in the project.
