Boosting Creativity and Innovation in Europe: Official launch of the European Year 2009, with the slogan "Imagine. Create. Innovate", in a ceremony in Prague by the Commission President José Manuel Barroso and the Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek. The same day a round table attended by several Ambassadors of the Year adopted a set of recommendations for EU governments and institutions. To download the Conclusion of the round table click here.

Best Practices from EU Programmes: A Conference and Exibition on 2nd and 3rd of March 2009 is organized in Brussels by the Directorate - General for Education and Culture. The major objective of the event will be to increase the visibility of initiatives carried out thanks to Community funding by showcasing range of good practices. The exhibition will showcase around 20 example of best practice which will also be illustrated in a brochure. For further information click here.
CICY: Cultural education, Innovation Creativity and Youth (12-13 March 2009): CANON Cultuurcel Vlaanderen (Flemish Ministry of Education) and Cultuurnetwerk Nederland (on behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science) are organising an international conference on arts and cultural education. The goal of the conference is to inspire policymakers from EU Member States and representatives from European institutions of cultural education to raise the profile of cultural education on the agenda both in their own country and at the EU level. European Entreprenuership Video Award: The contest will promote innovation and creativity. The challenge is to make creative and original short videos in one of three categories: "The entrepreneurial spirit", "Innovative Entrepreneurship" and "Responsible Entrepreneurship". The nine winners (three in each category) will be invited to an awards ceremony on 6 May 2009 in Brussels and will also receive a prize. Students of cinema schools and universities, business and management schools, members of business networks and associations, entrepreneurs and professionals… all are invited to portray their ideas and own experiences in the field of entrepreneurship.
