The Policy Learning Platform of the European Creative Industries Alliance has been set up with the aim of bringing together the most committed regional and national policy-makers across Europe to develop "better practice" in support of creative industries. The platform plays a crucial role in the European Creative Industries Alliance that was established in December 2011 by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry in order to fully unlock the potential of the creative industries.
The main task of the Policy Learning Platform is to engage in mutual policy learning and develop concrete master plans and roadmaps for actions to support the further development of creative industries in Europe. The platform will promote the results of the European Creative Industries Alliance in policy discussions at high level and closely cooperate with the 8 concrete actions on better business support, access to finance and cluster excellence & cooperation.
In order to draw upon a wider stakeholder community and build upon the best regional, national and European expertise and knowledge, an open call for new members for the Policy Learning Platform has been published. Candidates will preferably be policy-makers from national and/or regional authorities, representatives of economic development agencies, innovation agencies and other innovation and business support providers. They can also be representatives of relevant sectoral or sub-sectoral European associations in the field of creative industries.
Movers and shakers that want to shape the future of creative industries in Europe are invited to apply. Deadline for submission of applications is Tuesday, 17 April 2012.
