Designing Connectivity is a website to promote and discuss the themes which emerged in a seminar organised in March 2011 in Milan, in collaboration with CIKTN and University of the Arts London. The seminar has aimed at starting a debate around complex projects involving people, companies and places through a comparison between Italian and British experiences and by trying to understand the role of design in the actual hyper-networked society.
Co-Founder and D. Director Jeremy Davenport, Global Markets Champion Mark Leaver and Katie Mills, from our consortium partner University of the Arts London, were all involved in the panel sessions.
The Designing Connectivity organisers - DeST Research Unit, INDACO Department of the Politecnico di Milano and British Consulate General - believe that it is timely debate, and hope that the website will provide a collaborative exploration and a way of sharing activities on social, economical, civic and environmental levels.
"Design of experience as well as objectives and artifacts is also a key opportunity facilitated by new technologies, as it is exploring different dimensions of technology driven innovation across the creative industries including new ways of working/engaging with clients and consumers." - Jeremy Davenport
